why did I start painting?

It was a New Year's resolution. I come from a really creative family but growing up my focus was on sport and I didn’t have time for anything else. I did get into painting about a decade ago, and had some work available for sale and sold a couple of pieces, but then I started my family and life just got really busy. It’s something I always wanted to come back to and in the back of my mind it’s something I wanted to try again. Whenever I look at other people’s art I get really inspired. We were away with friends for New Years a couple of years ago and I told them that painting was one of my goals for the year. Telling other people made it more real and made me accountable.
